The Department of Natural Resources is investigating an accidental pheasant hunting shooting incident this month that sent the wife of the former Fond du lac County District Attorney to the hospital with minor injuries. State DNR Hunter Education administrator, John King, says Denise Kaminsky was hit in the face, wrist, hand and lower leg. She was treated at St. Agnes Hospital and released. She is the wife of former DA Dan Kaminsky. King says the shooter, Fond du Lac attorney Kirk Everson, did not see Kaminsky when she ran into a field chasing after her pet dog. She was not a member of the hunting party. The incident happened November 12 on private property in the town of Empire. King says the DNR is investigating and will forward a report to the District Atttorney’s Office for review.
