The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office continues to ramp up patrols over the holidays to prevent serious injury and fatal crashes. Sheriff Dale Schmidt says the crash reduction effort is ongoing primarily at areas prone to crashes in the past. Schmidt says 18 people have lost their lives on Dodge County roadways this year. That’s up from 12 in 2016, and an average of 10.6 traffic fatalities from 2011 through 2015.
