The Fond du Lac County Emergency Management director says a nationwide public safety broadband network will help improve how first responders communicate locally and across the state. On Friday Governor Scott Walker agreed for the state to joint the First Respondere Network Authority or FirstNet. Fond du lac County Emergency Management director Bobbie Hicken says the new partnership provides secure and robust broadband access for first responders and public safety personnel. Hicken says the big advantage to First Net will be the advanced technology. She says First Net will give first responders the tools necessary to communicate, in the event of a tornado for example.
