12-28-17 november unemployment rate

The area unemployment rate is virtually unchanged in the latest  reporting period.  The November unemployment rate dipped a tenth of a percent  to 2.5 percent in the city of Fond du Lac and 2.3 percent in Fond du Lac county.  The Dodge County jobless rate was unchanged at 2.4 percent.

12-28-17 walker says tax change will be $2508 cut for typical wi family

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. 12-28-17 appleton man charged in high speed chase in fdl, dodge and washington counties

An Appleton man has been charged in connection with a high speed chase in a stolen car in Fond du Lac, Dodge and Washington counties.  Twenty five year old Adam Piotrowski made his initial court appearance in Washington County on charges of recklessly endangering safety, fleeing and resisting and officer and bail jumping.  Bail was set at $35,000 cash.  Shortly before 1am Christmas morning a Fond du lac County Sheriff’s […]

12-27-17 no injuries when atv breaks through ice on lake winnebago

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office is warning people about dangerous ice conditions on Lake Winnebago after an ATV broke through thin ice over the Christmas holiday.  Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s  Sergeant Paul Rottscholl says 20 year old Christopher Porter of Fond du Lac escaped injury when his ATV went through the ice on the lake near Supple’s Marsh.

12-27-17 wind chill advisory in wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin is expected to finish the year with freezing temperatures and dangerously high wind chills.  Wind chills reached 20 below in Madison, but areas in the northern part of the state experienced even colder wind chills. 12-27-17 police release names of two women killed in oshkosh train crash

OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) — Oshkosh police have released the names of two women killed when their car collided with a train last week.  Authorities on Tuesday identified the victims as 37-year-old Emily Mueller and 43-year-old Jessica Roby.  The crash happened Friday night on the east side of Oshkosh. Authorities continue to investigate.

12-27-17 ripon high school student accused of threatening other students

A Ripon High School student faces explusion after threatening to harm eight students at  Ripon High School.   The Ripon High School principal says the student threatened to shoot eight students in an online conversation with another student.   The other student then reported the threat to school officials.  The district says an investigation determined the student made threatening comments but found no evidence the student had means to harm anyone.    The […]
