12-24-17 body found in burned out car in fox valley

KAUKAUNA, Wis. (AP) — Authorities in northeastern Wisconsin are trying to figure out how human remains ended up in a burned vehicle.  The vehicle was discovered just before 2:30 a.m. Saturday along railroad tracks running along the Fox River in Kaukauna. Inside the vehicle were human skeletal remains.  Officials haven't identified the remains. The incident remains under investigation.

Nearly 60 Waupun children are getting Christmas presents thanks to the Waupun Christmas Club.    The Club was formed 62 years ago by a group of local business leaders.   This year the Club shopped, wrapped,  and delivered the gifts to 20 families and a total of 59 kids.  Meanwhile the Club is making a plea for more members.   Incoming president Rohn Bishop says membership has been slowly falling over the years, […]

12-24-17 fdl city and county offices closed for the holidays

In observance of the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, Fond du Lac county  offices in the City/County Government Center, the Department of Social Services, the Veteran Services Office, the Department of Community Programs, the Sheriff’s lobby/records office and the Highway Department will be closed on December 25 and January 1.   City Offices will be closed both days as well.

The Fond du Lac  Salvation Army is closing in on its $160,000 fundraising goal.  Goebel  Insurance & Financial matched  up to $1000 in Red Kettle donations received through Friday.  Saturday,  AM 1170 and WTCX announcer  Gregg  Owens,  is broadcasting live  at Festival Foods 10 am to Noon.   West Shore Group is also matching  up to $15,000 of kettle donations.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin wildlife officials have confirmed a cougar was roaming Douglas County last month.  State Department of Natural Resources officials say they've confirmed four trail camera photos of a cougar wandering through Foxboro and Bennett areas ono Nov. 11 and Nov. 14.  They say it's unclear whether the cougar is the same animal caught on multiple trail cameras in central Wisconsin between early August and late October.  […]
