1-31-18 fire destroys garage in mt. calvary

Nobody was injured in a fire that destroyed a garage in Mount Calvary.  At about 11:30am Wednesday firefighters were called to the Gregg Spanbauer residence at  600 Fond du Lac Street in the village of Mount Calvary.    The garage and its contents were destroyed.    Investigators say the fire started when Spanbauer  accidentally cut a gasoline line to a car he was repairing.

1-31-18 saputo cheese-mass layoff notice

1-31-18 probable cause hearing scheduled in turner case

A hearing will be held next week to determine if there is probable cause that convicted murderer Gerald Turner is a sexually violent person.  The  hearing was scheduled after the Wisconsin attorney general’s office filed a petition last Friday requesting that Turner be held in an institution under a mental health commitment.     If probable cause is found at the hearing a  trial could be scheduled.  Turner was convicted in the […]

Fond du Lac police are asking the public for help following a shooting incident last Friday night.  Police chief Bill Lamb says investigators have learned the shooting in the area of 5th Street, between South Main and Marr Streets followed an altercation between two individuals.  Lamb says investigators believe the shooter was aiming at the other individual  involved in the incident.  "Sounds like one individual might have been chasing another.  […]

1-31-18 flu season still hasn’t peaked

There were fewer flu cases reported in Wisconsin last week, but officials say the season has still not  peaked.  Fond du lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says the number of flu cases will remain high for 3-4 weeks after the season peaks.  "Absolutely, because it took a little bit for it to get up there,"  Mueller told WFDL news.   Mueller says its not too late to get a […]
