The Fond du Lac County Clerk is defending the embattled state elections and ethics committee chairmen. Lisa Freiberg, a Republican, says she supports Michael Haas and Brian Bell. Freiberg says both men are doing a fine job. “…and to shake up that commission again when we got rid of the government accountability board, in a four-plus election year…where’s our guidance? We need to move forward and stop looking back,” Freiberg told WFDL news. Freiberg says she believes both men deserve an apology from Republican legislative leaders who are trying to force them out. Freiberg says she believes Bell and Haas have acted fairly and with impartiality in their jobs.
