The Wisconsin attorney general is asking a judge to halt the February release from prison of convicted murderer Gerald Turner. Turner was convicted in the murder of nine year old Lisa French in Fond du Lac on Halloween, 1973. He is due to be released February 1. A petition alleging Turner is a sexually violent person was filed Friday in Fond du Lac County Circuit Circuit. The petition requests Turner be held in an institution, under a mental health commitment.. A judge will decide Monday if there is probable cause to hold a hearing.
