Nobody was injured in a fire that caused minor damage to a Fond du Lac County home. Shortly after 11:30pm Sunday a passerby called to report smoke visible from the garage of the home at W3858 Silica Road and could hear a woman in the residence call for help. Firefighters were able to get the woman out of the house and quickly extinguish a small fire. The 47-year-old female occupant was treated for minor smoke inhalation at the scene and was released. The cause of the fire was careless handling of smoking materials which ignited flammable items that were on the concrete floor in the basement level of the residence. Very minor smoke damage was sustained in the fire, and the residence was deemed habitable.
