2-27-18 jury trial scheduled for man arrested in major heroin bust

A jury trial is scheduled for one of nine people arrested last spring in connection with a heroin bust in Fond du lac and Winnebago counties.   Richard Ferguson is charged with three counts of  manufacture-delivery of heroin.    A four day jury trial is scheduled to begin April 9.  He is being held in the Fond du Lac County Jail on $500,000 cash bond.

2-27-18 trial date set for former sadoff iron and metal union steward

A trial date has been set for a former union steward at Fond du Lac's Sadoff Iron and Metal, accused of stealing thousands of dollars from the company.   Donald Krueger is scheduled to go on trial May 22 on charges of racketeering and   theft.   Krueger is accused of  taking cash in exchange for accepting scrap automobiles loaded with dirt and debris to inflate the value of the scrap metal. 2-26-18 fdl car fire spreads to garage

Nobody was injured in a car fire that damaged a garage in Fond du Lac.   Shortly after 8:30pm Saturday firefighters were  called to 173 S. Brooke Street and were able to quickly extinguish the fire and prevent further damage to the garage or residence.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
