4-2-18 fdl police find abandoned homeless camps in wooded area

Fond du Lac police are investigating two abandoned homeless camps discovered  this week.  Police officers found  materials used to make shelters and old mattresses in a wooded area at the dead ends of Monmouth and Vermont streets in Fond du Lac.   Last October, a homeless camp was found in a wooded area on Alliant Energy property.  Police say there are homeless shelters available in Fond du Lac through the Solutions […]

3-31-18 waupun prison captain arrested following domestic incident

A captain at the Waupun Correctional Institution has been arrested following a domestic incident at his Campbellsport area residence.   Robert Rymarkiewicz  is charged with misdemeanor battery and disorderly conduct with a domestic  abuse enhancer.   He is scheduled to make an initial Fond du Lac Court appearance April 10.  A state Department of Corrections spokesman told WFDL news the incident is under investigation.

3-31-18 walker signs bill to close youth prison

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Gov. Scott Walker has signed legislation to close a troubled youth prison in Wisconsin and authorize funding for new facilities across the state.  Walker signed the bill in Milwaukee on Friday. The legislation allow the state to borrow $80 million for building facilities to house juvenile offenders when the Lincoln Hills prison shuts down by 2021. 3-30-18 menasha man convicted of high speed chase in fdl county

A Menasha man has been convicted of charges stemming from a  high speed chase in Fond du Lac County.  A Fond du lac jury has found Anthony Rivera guilty of eluding, recklessly endangering safety, and possession of cocaine.    According to a criminal complaint Rivera led sheriff’s deputies on a 13 mile long chase on Highway 151  south of Fond du Lac last October that reached  speeds of 100 miles […]
