Discussion is ongoing on implementing a security plan at the Fond du Lac city county government center. County executive Al Buechel updated the county Public Safety committee at their meeting last week. Buechel says the hope is to have a manned security checkpoint at the public entrance probably on the north side of the building by Labor Day. Buechel says employees could enter at a different location using a key fob. The city council and county board signed off last fall on funding the project which is estimated to cost $250,000.
