A new AAA traffic safety survey shows risky driving is on the rise. According to the survey, 88 percent of drivers believe distracted driving is on the rise. State AAA spokesman, Nick Jarmuscz, says drivers also believe aggressive driving, and drunk and drugged driving is also increasing. “What we found is troubling. We found there is a lot of do as I say not as I do,” Jarmuscz told WFDL news. The annual survey also shows an increase in the number of drivers who admit to speeding and running red lights, despite widespread social disapproval of both behaviors. Jarmuscz says the survey offers insight to better understand and identify potential countermeasures to reduce crashes. Nearly half of the drivers surveyed report they regularly see drivers emailing or texting while driving.
