Fond du Lac Avenue from Sixth Street to North of National Ave
Schedule: April 2018 thru October 2018
Description of work: The project work consists of placing new sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer, excavation, grading, stone base, asphalt pavement, concrete pavement, curb and gutter, concrete sidewalk, asphalt pedestrian trail, traffic signals, lighting, pavement marking, signing, and landscaping.
March 26th to March 30: Portable Changeable Message Boards have been placed on Fond du Lac Avenue to information motorists of the upcoming road closure.
April 2nd to April 6th: The City’s Contractor – Advance Construction will set up traffic control, the detour, and begin to break pavement on Fond du Lac Avenue between 6th Street and 11th Street or Stages 1 and 2. In addition Alliant Energy plans to start gas relay south of 9th Street.
Traffic impacts: Fond du Lac Avenue will be closed to through traffic. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED – LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street during working hours.
Project Detour: South National Avenue at the intersection with Fond du Lac Avenue to Fourth Street at the intersection with Fond du Lac Avenue.
