3-29-18 fdl man convicted of armed robbery

A Fond du Lac man has been convicted of robbing a woman at gunpoint in a restaurant parking lot.  A Fond du lac jury found Domonick Morrow guilty of armed robbery,  resisting,  theft and disorderly  conduct.  The armed robbery occurred on October 5, 2017 in the Friar Tucks’ parking lot at approximately 8:30 pm. 3-29-18 food vandals hit fdl area homes

Fond du law enforcement are investigating a handful of vandalism incidents involving chocolate syrup, ketchup and mustard smeared on their homes and driveways.   Police say about nine houses were vandalized late Monday night and Tuesday morning.  One resident  on Winchester Avenue captured the vandals on a home camera.  Other incidents were reported on Prairie View Road, Carriage Lane,  Seventh  Street and Sirocco Street

3-29-18 area unemployment rate is up

The area unemployment rate is up in the latest reporting period.  The state Department of Workforce Development says the February jobless rate is up three tenths of a percent  to 3.1 percent in the City of Fond du Lac, three percent in Fond du lac County and 3.2 percent in Dodge County.    The statewide unemployment rate in February was 2.9 percent.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Scott Walker has signed into law a bill strengthening the penalties for legally buying a firearm with the intent to provide the weapon to someone barred from having a gun.   Walker on Wednesday signed the bill increasing penalties from a misdemeanor to a felony for "straw" purchases.
