5-2-18 fatal hwy 23 crash investigation

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into a fatal traffic crash on Highway 23 west of Fond du Lac Monday.  Seventy one year old Joseph Mineau of Oakfield was killed when his car collided with a semi.  Sheriff’s captain Ryan Waldschmidt says investigators want to know why Mineau  drove into the path of the semi after stopping at a stop sign on Highway C.  “That intersection, when you’re traveling south on Highway C it doesn’t meet at a 90 degree angle,”  Waldschmidt told WFDL news.  “…you have to kind of look behind you when you look to you’re left to look for westbound traffic.”   Waldschmidt says investigators are trying to determine if any medical conditions may have contributed to the crash.
