The city of Fond du Lac is bypassing the Wastewater Treatment plant into Lake Winnebago in an effort to alleviate flooding and basement back-ups in the city. Public Works director Jordan Skiff says the city is closely watching water levels at Supple Marsh on the northwest side of town. “We’re hearing multiple reports from residential areas on the north part of the city about water spreading south toward homes.” Skiff says Public Works crews are also keeping a close eye on the Fond du Lac River. “It takes several hours for the crest of the river to reach us,” Skiff said. He says debris could block the water flow causing problems.
