1-30-19 icy roads

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office is warning motorists to slow down on area roads.  Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt says the salt and brine solution is having little effect on melting the snow and ice because of the below zero temperatures.   “The highway crews have done a great job at clearing the snow and opening the roads up but the salt is completely ineffective,”  Waldschmidt told WFDL news.  Waldschmidt says deputies were busy Tuesday responding to several vehicles skidding off the roads.  Waldschmidt says students needed to be transferred to another school bus after their bus skidded off the road near Rosendale.  There were no injuries.
