Schools are closed throughout Wisconsin Wednesday with record cold temperatures including all schools in Fond du Lac and Dodge counties. National Weather Service meteorologist Tim Halbach says Wednesday’s high temperature in Fond du Lac could set a record low. “The general records for this time of year are in that negative teens below zero,” Halbach told WFDL news. “We’ll be close on that record.” A wind chill warning is in effect through noon Thursday. Halbach says the good news is that the extreme cold won’t linger for several days. Halbach says high temps could be close to or into the 40s this weekend.
