A retired Ripon College political science professor says testimony this week from president Trump’s former lawyer weren’t necessarily new, but reinforced an unflattering image of the president.  Michael Cohen cast the president as a racist and a con man who used his inner circle to cover up politically damaging allegations about sex and who lied throughout the 2016 election campaign about his business interests in Russia.   Retired Ripon College political science professor Marty Farrell says he didn’t hear anything that Cohen said that would provide proof of any criminal wrongdoing by the president.  Farrell says incessant criticism from Republicans anxious to paint Cohen as a felon and liar flies in the face of criminal prosecutions throughout the country where people who had lied in the past turn state’s evidence to get a conviction.
