An environmental group says when it comes to environmental issues, Democratic governor Tony Evers’ budget focuses on science and clean drinking water. Amber Meyer-Smith with Clean Wisconsin says the budget includes $70 million to address water quality. “The governor has really taken some significant steps here to try and deliver clean drinking water to Wisconsin families,” Meyer-Smith told WFDL news. Meyer-Smith says she is also pleased to see the governor’s proposal to restore five science positions to the DNR that were cut by former governor Scott Walker. She says given his background as a science teacher Ever’s approach to the environment and the DNR is completely different than that of Walker.
