The Fond du Lac County Board chairman says last week’s board vote to extend the sales tax shows that unlike the state and federal government, local units of government are unified. Last week’s vote to terminate a sunset date of December 31, 2021 for the sales tax was unanimous. “I just want to say I’m very proud of our board, not just that they voted that way, it was the unity, 23-0” County Board chairman Marty Farrell told WFDL news. “At a time of divided government, partisan bickering, gridlock at all levels of government, our board could unify.” Farrell says he believes board supervisors put the good of the county ahead of any partisan or political feelings about a sales tax.
