4-10-19 fdl high school hires new head football coach

Fond du Lac High School has a new head football coach.  Athletic director David Michalkiewicz announced Tuesday that Steven Jorgensen has been hired as the Head Coach for the 2019 season.  Jorgensen has served as the Assistant Coach for the past seven seasons.   He replaces his dad Steve Jorgensen who announced that he was stepping down as head coach at the end of last season, but will stay on as an assistant coach.  Here is a statement from Coach Jorgensen:
“Fond du Lac High School Community, Staff and Students,  After much prayer and consideration with my family I am excited to accept the position of Head Football Coach at Fond du Lac High School. I thank the administration for the faith and trust they have in me going forward. I look forward to building upon the consistent level of excellence that this program has exhibited under Coach Gnewuch and my father, Coach Jorgensen over the past seven years as they have lead and took this program to a very high level. The Fond du Lac football program will continue to be built upon on the foundations of faith, hard work, accountability, growth and love both on and off the field. I am blessed to have a great staff in place that works as hard as any in the state for the student athletes in this program all year long. We as a staff look forward to continuing to use this program as a positive light in Fond du Lac and will strive to represent this school and community in the best way possible. I truly thank God for the opportunity given to lead this football program and I’m looking forward to serving all those invested moving forward.”
