The state has decided to postpone the mock tornado drill originally scheduled for Thursday due to the potential for severe weather in a portion of the state. Due to this decision, Fond du Lac County will also postpone our county-wide drill. The tornado drill will now be held on Friday, April 12th. The times remain the same. A mock tornado watch will be issued at 1 pm followed by a mock tornado warning at 1:45 pm. There will be another mock tornado warning issued at 6:45 pm. Everyone is encouraged to use these times to practice your severe weather safety plans. In Fond du Lac County, the sirens will be activated for both of the mock warnings. Weather radios will be activated, however, the Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) will not be activated on your cell phones. It is not anticipated at this time, but if there is a potential for severe weather on Friday, the drill will be cancelled.
