4-25-19 chilton man charged in connection with high speed chase in fdl county

Bail was set at $3500 cash for a Chilton man charged in connection with a high speed chase over the Easter holiday weekend in Fond du Lac County.   Juan Hurtado-Olvera made his initial Fond du lac court appearance Wednesday on four counts of second degree recklessly endangering safety, eluding an officer and owi with a child passenger.  A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 3.    The chase started  Saturday afternoon when Olvera was clocked at nearly 100 miles an hour on Highway 151 in the  town of Calumet.  He slowed to highway speed and exited on Johnson Street in the city of Fond du Lac where he was eventually stopped near Johnson and National Avenue when he was surrounded by squad cars.
