A new manned security checkpoint at the Fond du lac city-county government center is expected to be in operation next month. The checkpoint, including metal detector will be located at what will be the lone public entrance on the northside of the building. County executive Al Buechel says government employees will be issued fobs for building access. He says officers who will man the checkpoint will be trained on the equipment. Buechel says the checkpoint should be in operation in about a month. The Fond du Lac city-county building board got an update at their meeting Friday afternoon.
