Project Detour: North on Fond du Lac Avenue to South on Martin Avenue to west on Pioneer Road.
East Cotton Street from North Park Avenue to McKinley Street

May 28 th to May 31 st : The utility contractor will begin installing sanitary sewer at McKinley Street, working west and plan to begin installing water main late in the week.

Tompkins Street from Superior Street to Termini

May 28 th to May 31 st : The electrical and curb work was completed and the fine grading and asphalt pavement is scheduled to be completed late in the week.
Traffic Impacts: Tompkins Street from the railroad tracks to Superior Street is closed to through traffic. Residents may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED – LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours.
Hickory Street Bridge over West Branch of Fond du Lac River
Schedule: May 2019 through June 2019
Description: The bridge deck will be milled and a new overlay installed which requires the closure of the bridge to vehicle and pedestrian travel.
May 28 th to May 31 st : The contractor completed the concrete bridge deck overlay and is performing a wet cure through mid-week. Some curb and pavement repairs will take place in preparation for the asphalt approaches.
Traffic Impacts: Hickory Street Bridge will be closed to traffic and pedestrian access. Follow the signed detour which is South Bound (SB) – Western Ave. to N. Brook Street to S. Military and North Bound (NB) is the reverse order of SB.
East Second Street Bridge over DeNeveu Creek
Schedule: May 2019 through June 2019
Description: The contractor completed the surface repairs on the bridge deck and sidewalk. An epoxy overlay will be placed which is scheduled to begin mid-June. When the epoxy overlay starts the bridge will be closed for a few weeks. This will restrict vehicle and pedestrian access across the bridge.
May 28 th to May 31 st : No work is anticipated until the epoxy overlay begins in mid-June.
Traffic Impacts: E. Second Street Bridge is currently open to traffic and will remain open until the epoxy overlay work begins mid-June then it will be closed to both vehicle and pedestrian access for several weeks.
Johnson Street, STH 23 from Main Street to Peters Avenue
Schedule: May 20 th through June 7 th
Description: The Department of Public Works crews are removing the brick pavers located in the crosswalks on Johnson Street west of Main Street and completing additional routine maintenance in these blocks.
May 28 th to May 31 st : Crews completed crosswalk work between Main Street and Hickory Street. Crosswalk replacement continues between Hickory Street and Peters Avenue.
Traffic Impacts: Starting early on Tuesday, May 28 th , the traffic control will be moved maintain two way traffic on Johnson Street between Peters Avenue to Hickory Street along the north side of Johnson Street. Crews will replace the south cross walks on Johnson Street like they did along the north side. Traffic at the cross street intersections for north and south streets will be maintained. The lane restrictions between Peters Avenue and Hickory Street are planned to be in place until June 7 th . Pedestrian access will be allow within 24 hours of pouring the crosswalks. Motorists should follow the signed detour in place Hwy 23, to Hwy 41, to Hwy 151.
Arndt Street Bridge Replacement, Arndt Street between Satterlee Street and Lincoln Avenue
Schedule: May 20 th through June 7 th
Description: The project includes the replacement of the Arndt Street Bridge over the West Branch of the Fond Du Lac River. This project is a partnership between the City of Fond du Lac and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT).
May 28 th to May 31 st : The contractor will begin mobilizing equipment to the site this week. Some work on the bridge demolition may begin by weeks end.
Traffic Impacts: Arndt Street between Lincoln Ave. and Satterlee Street will be closed to traffic beginning Friday, May 31 st for the duration of the project, which is expected to last until Mid-October. There will not be a signed detour but the use of N. Hickory Street to Scott Street to N. Brook Street or the Johnson Street Bridge is
