People will soon be able to rent jet skis and pontoon boats at Fond du Lac’s Lakeside Park. The Fond du Lac city council last week gave its blessing to allow local used car dealer Brad Lenz to rent out jet skis and a pontoon boat on the docks in the lagoon near Oven Island. Council president Brian Kolstad says operators will have to follow DNR rules for safe watercraft operation in the channel. “Back when we did the Lakeside Park exploratory committee, this was one of the recommendations that came out of that, the ability to rent equipment like jet skis and that sort of thing,” Kolstad told WFDL news. “We have a vendor that is willing to take on the investment and the liability for that type of business,” City officials say the business will start out with a couple of wave runners and a pontoon boat, with the possibility of expanding up to 15 jet skis depending on the demand.
