6-28-19 meteorology professor says wisconsin residents should expect wet summer

A meteorology professor at Ball State University has this message for Wisconsin residents…its going to be a long, wet summer.   Doctor David Call says the long-range forecast calls for continuous rain throughout the summer for Wisconsin and the Midwest.  Call says it’s a situation where the jet stream is kind of stuck in a rut.  “This year we’ve seen the jet stream be in the same place a lot of the year.  What its been doing is taking lots of warmth and moisture from the tropical Pacific Ocean, carrying it up across the southwest and dumping it all over the Midwest,”  Call told AM 1170’s Between the Lines program.    Call says with climate change, the planet gets warmer and puts more moisture in the air.  When you increase moisture, you get more rain.
