Saint Mary’s Springs Academy in Fond du Lac has a new president. The Academy Board has announced that Stacey Akey has been appointed president effective July 1. Akey has served as Interim President since February. Before that Akey was the vice president for enrollment management and marketing at Marian University. In addition, she previously served on the St. Mary’s Springs Academy Board of Directors for six years. Akey earned her Associates Degree in Business – Marketing from Fox Valley Technical College, Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and her Master of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership, both from Marian University (formerly Marian College). “The Board is very pleased and grateful that Stacey has agreed to serve in the role of President at this important time in history at SMSA,” Jim Mugan, Chair of St. Marys Springs Academy Board of Directors said. “Her experience, enthusiasm, and passion for moving SMSA forward makes Stacey uniquely qualified and desirable for this position.” “I am honored and sincerely grateful to have the opportunity to serve SMSA in this Capacity,” Akey said. “Having been blessed to spend the last five months on the Ledge, I can truly say that the SMSA community has left an indelible imprint on me, leaving me forever changed.
