A Waupun man is accused of attempting to hide a woman wanted for reckless homicide in the drug overdose death of a 23-year-old Fond du Lac man. Sixty five year old Steven L. Bierman is charged with harboring or aiding a felon. The charge carries a maximum ten year prison sentence. Bierman is scheduled to appear in Dodge County Circuit Court on July 15. According to the criminal complaint Bierman did not tell police that Cara Zech was staying at his apartment. Zech is accused of supplying heroin and fentanyl that led to the overdose death of Steven Compton. She is being held in jail on $100,000 cash bond. Two others, 47 year old Julie Harr and 40 year old Anthony Buechel also face reckless homicide charges in Fond du Lac County Circuit Court in connection with the case.
