Kids have another place to cool off during the hot summer at Fond du Lac’s Lakeside Park. Ribbon cutting ceremonies were held last week for a new splash pad, in the kids’ playground area at the park. Fond du Lac city council president Brian Kolstad says it’s a great feature for the park. “Its a great addition to the park. This was part of the Lakeside Park Exploratory committee recommendations,” Kolstad told WFDL news. The splash pad is one of several improvements that have occurred or are planned for the park in the last couple of years. A paved bicycle path meanders along the lakeshore, and construction on a new pavilion is planned for next year.
