Fond du Lac police are warning residents about a telephone scam that has surfaced in recent days. Assistant police chief Steve Klein says the caller claims to be with Social Security threatening arrest if they don’t send money. Klein told WFDL news the caller asks the person to send money via a money order or Google Play gift card. Klein says if you get a call like this hang up. Klein says so far it doesn’t appear that anyone locally has fallen victim to the scam.
