Governor Tony Evers toured Langlade and Oconto counties Monday meeting with local officials and viewing damage caused by the severe weather. Sunday, the Governor declared a statewide State of Emergency and directed state agencies and the Wisconsin National Guard to provide assistance if needed. Approximately 53,000 customers are without power. Utility crews continue to work hard and it is anticipated all power should be restored by midweek. The Wisconsin National Guard activated two dozen personnel today to deliver potable water to distribution points in Langlade County.
The Red Cross is working with local emergency management in continuing to operate reception centers where people can get food, water and other supplies om Balsam Lake, Rosholt, Gresham, Koshena, Neopit, and Mishicot.
