Taste of Fond du Lac will not be held this year. Fond du Lac Festivals has announced the annual food tasting festival is taking the year off with plans to hold the festival again next summer. The annual Taste has been held on the third Sunday of August at Lakeside Park for the last five years, and previously held at the Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds. Festivals president Terry Davis says while the festival continues to attract good numbers it has been a challenge to secure restaurants due to labor shortages. He says Fond du Lac Festivals remains committed to growing Walleye Weekend and does plan to bring the Taste event back in 2020. In 2018, Fond du Lac Festivals helped local charities raise nearly $250,000 from proceeds of Walleye Weekend and the Taste of Fond du Lac.
