TOWN OF DANE, Wis. (AP) — Missouri law enforcement officials say the case of two missing Wisconsin brothers is now a death investigation.  The brothers, Nicholas Diemel and Justin Diemel, were in Missouri last weekend for business related to a livestock business they run in Shawano County, Wisconsin. 7-29-19 big boy locomotive rolls through dodge county

Crowds gathered near the railroad tracks in Dodge and Columbia counties this week to get a chance to see an old fashioned steam engine.   The Union Pacific’s Big Boy No. 4014 locomotive made a stop in Friesland and passed through South Beaver Dam.   The train is touring the Union Pacific system throughout the year for the transcontinental railroad’s 150th anniversary.   No. 4014 is the world’s only operating Big Boy locomotive and one of […]

7-29-19 big green lake tested for blue green algae

For the first time Big Green Lake is being tested for blue-green algae.   The bacteria can be dangerous  to humans and pets if they come in contact with the algae.  Because of the potential health health hazard the Green Lake Sanitary District decided to partner with the Green Lake Association to test the water.  The District and Association are splitting the more than $1,000 cost.

7-27-19 ripon city lawn ordinance

7-26-19 vaping teens injured

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Doctors suspect vaping caused severe lung damage in eight teens from southeastern Wisconsin hospitalized over the last month.  The teenagers from Milwaukee, Waukesha and Winnebago counties were brought to Children's Hospital of Wisconsin with extreme cough, shortness of breath and fatigue.  Hospital officials said Thursday that some of the teens had lost weight from vomiting and diarrhea.   Chief Medical Officer Jonathan Meiman with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services […]
