An elderly Mayville woman who was found unconscious in the basement of a Waupun home last month with severe head injuries has died.   Waupun police chief Scott Louden says 75 year old Carol Foreman died last week at ThedaCare Medical Center in Neenah.  Police are waiting for autopsy results as they continue their investigation into the incident.   The woman’s grandson, 30 year old Gregory Spittel, was arrested and made his initial Fond du Lac court appearance last week on charges of  threatening a law enforcement  officer, resisting arrest  and disorderly conduct.  He is also charged with possession of  cocaine and drug paraphernalia.  He is being held in the Fond du lac County Jail on  $21,000 cash bond.  Police were called to the Brandon Street home August 24 and found Foreman with what were described as severe head injuries.  Louden says Spittel was intoxicated, confrontational, making threats to officers,  asking officers to shoot him and had to be Tazed before he was arrested.   Louden says additional charges could be filed against Spittel depending the outcome of the investigation.
