9-20-19 water rescues on big green lake

Nobody was injured in three separate rescues on Big Green Lake this week.   The Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office says a scuba diver got hooked by a down rigger weight near a fishing boat north of the Horner Road boat landing Wednesday, but did not need medical attention.   A few hours later a man fell in the water after a catamaran tipped over in the southwest corner of the lake.  A man in a pontoon boat assisted the man in the water safely to shore.   About an hour later, the third call came in from a boater who had a scuba diver who could not find their boat. The diver had been under the water for about an hour before they surfaced to find their boat was gone. Water patrol later found the boat near the Roger Williams Inn on the north shore. Officials say high winds caused the boat to lose anchoring and drift away.
