Strong winds knocked down trees and power lines in Fond du Lac Monday afternoon. Fond du Lac Fire Chief Pete O’Leary says there were several reports of power lines down in the city Monday afternoon. “…three or four calls related to the high winds and rain, low hanging wires, wires down,” O’Leary told WFDL news. “A transformer blew that created a localized power issue.” One tree landed on top of a power line at the corner of Mequon and Maona Avenues. O’Leary reminds residents to report any downed power lines and stay away from the lines. A wind advisory was in effect until 2pm Monday with wind gusts up to 45 miles an hour.
