A Portage man convicted of attacking two law enforcement officers in Fond du Lac is going to prison. Fond du Lac judge Gary Sharpe sentenced 32 year old Troy Kratz to six years in prison followed by six years extended supervision. Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney says he’s pleased with the sentence. “We take attacks on our law enforcement officers incredibly serious,” Toney told WFDL news. Kratz was convicted of multiple charges including battery to a law enforcement officer, and resisting. Assistant police chief Steve Klein says Kratz punched a sheriff’s deputy and police officer in the face following a traffic stop last year. The police officer suffered a broken elbow.
