10-25-19 ixonia woman convicted of helping convicted killer hide body

A 21-year-old Ixonia woman has been convicted of  helping a convicted killer  hide a Beaver Dam man’s body at the Dodge County property where she lived.  Dakota Schlesner was found guilty of aiding a felon in Dodge County Circuit Court.  She faces up to one and a half years in prison when she is sentenced in January.  Schlesner was initially  charged with  party to a crime of hiding a corpse.  Twenty one year old Nigel Schultz of  Fond du Lac was earlier convicted of  first-degree homicide  in Bradlee Gerke’s death and faces a mandatory life sentence.   Authorities say Schlesner helped Schultz dispose of the body and did not report the murder to police until her father discovered the grave and called police.
