Nobody was injured in a fire that destroyed a Campbellsport area home and garage over the weekend. At 10:30am Sunday firefighters from eleven area departments were called to the Jeff and Deborah McCarey residence on Birchwood Drive in the town of Osceola for a report of the attached garage on fire. The fire quickly spread to the house, resulting in the loss of the garage and house. Two vehicles in the garage were also destroyed. Everyone safely evacuated the residence. The cause of the fire is believed to have started as a result of a faulty extension cord in a nearby room in the garage. The family is currently being assisted by the Red Cross. A family member was transported to St. Agnes Hospital for minor injuries that were not a result of the fire.
