The City of Fond du Lac Police Department has been working to attain law enforcement accredited status for the past two and a half years and, as a part of that process, will be undergoing three days of full assessment on November 12 through 14. A team of assessors from the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Accreditation Group (WILEAG), will
arrive on November 12, 2019 to examine all aspects of the Fond du Lac Police Department’s policies, procedures, administration, operations, and support services. Verification by the assessment team that the Fond du Lac Police Department meets all WILEAG state of the art standards is part of a voluntary process to gain accreditation
status – recognized as the State of Wisconsin’s gold standard of law enforcement professional excellence. As part of the on-site assessment, department employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments at a public information session on November 13th at 5:00pm. The session will be held in Conference Room A at the Fond du Lac Police Department located at 126 N. Main Street. If for some reason an individual cannot speak at the public information session but would still like to provide comments to the
assessment team, he/she may do so by telephone. The public may call (920) 204-2749 on November 13 th between the hours of 2:00pm and 4:00pm. Telephone comments as well as appearances at the public information session are limited
to 10 minutes and must address the agency’s ability to comply with WILEAG’s standards. A copy of the standards are available for review at the front lobby service window at the Fond du Lac Police Department. The Department contact for additional information about this public comments session is Assistant Chief of Police/Administration Aaron Goldstein at (920) 322-3704. Persons wishing to offer written comments about the Fond du Lac Police Department’s ability to meet the standards for accreditation may write to Wisconsin Law Enforcement Accreditation Group (WILEAG) at WILEAG at P.O. Box 528, Hartland, WI 53029.
