MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin gun deer license sales are about on par with last year.  The state’s nine-day gun deer season opened Saturday. The state Department of Natural Resources released figures Tuesday that show as of midnight Sunday hunters had purchased 555,227 licenses that allow them to kill deer with a firearm across the state’s multiple deer seasons.  That’s down about 1.5% from 2018. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Democratic lawmakers want more diaper-changing stations in Wisconsin.  Reps. Jonathan Brostoff and David Crowley along with Sen. Chris Larson have introduced a bill that would require public and commercial buildings built or renovated after the bill becomes law to have diaper-changing stations in every restroom. (AP) — The University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents has selected UW-Stout’s next chancellor.   The regents said Tuesday they’ve hired Katherine Frank, the vice president of academic innovation and an English professor at Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington. MILWAUKEE (AP) — The Milwaukee Common Council approved a ban on single-use plastic straws, but customers can still get them by request.  The ordinance passed Tuesday on a 13-2 vote and now goes to Mayor Tom Barrett for his signature. 11-27-19 beaver dam man sentenced to prison for making threats to police

A Beaver Dam man is going to prison in connection with a fight and threats to police.  Dodge County Circuit judge Martin De Vries sentenced 41 year old Dale Lengling to  a year and a half in prison and three years extended supervision for battery, threats to a law enforcement officer and bail jumping.  Police say Lengling was involved in an altercation with another man at a Beaver Dam residence in May.   According to […]
