1-2-20 slippery roads

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office responded to several vehicle run-offs and mostly minor traffic crashes on snow covered slippery roads Monday night and Tuesday morning.  The southbound lanes of Interstate 41 were closed at Highway 151 in Fond du Lac due to a traffic crash early Tuesday morning.    The crash happened shortly after 5am and the Interstate was reopened shortly before 8am.

1-2-20 truck hits gas pump at fdl kwik trip

Nobody was hurt when a box truck pulling into a Kwik Trip in  Fond du Lac knocked over a gas pump.   Fond du lac Fire and Rescue captain Joe Maramonte tells WFDL news the truck apparently hit a patch of ice and skidded into a pump at the South Main Street Kwik Trip Monday evening.    Firefighters were on the scene for less than an hour.

12-31-19 drive sober on new year’s eve

Fond du Lac County area law enforcement agencies will be out in force this New Year’s holiday to crack down on drunken driving.   The Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign started earlier this month and runs through New Year’s Day.  Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s captain Bill Tadych says last year in Wisconsin,  alcohol-related crashes resulted in 160 deaths and nearly 3,300 injuries.  There have been three alcohol-related fatalities in […]

12-31-19 wi election officials deadlock on culling voter rolls

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin voters whose registrations were challenged by a conservative law firm will remain on the voter rolls for now. The Wisconsin Elections Commission deadlocked Monday on whether to comply with a judge's order to remove anywhere from 144,000 to more than 200,000 names from voter rolls in the key swing state.
