The Fond du Lac city council president says he is confident a bicycle Ride Share program can work in Fond du Lac. The Fond du Lac city council last week approved the program that will start in the spring. Alliant Energy has agreed to sponsor the program for two years. After that ridership data will be assessed to determine if its worthwhile to continue the program. Alliant Energy’s sponsorship will include both traditional and electric bikes with stations in Lakeside Park and downtown. Fond du Lac city council president Brian Kolstad says he envisions people who live and work in the downtown using the bikes as well as people visiting the community. “I think its a pretty easy way to see how this is going to be used and I think it will catch on,” Kolstad said.
