1-31-20 split verdict reached in fdl shooting case

A Fond du Lac jury has reached a split verdict in the case of a  Fond du Lac man charged in a shooting incident last year.   The jury found 26 year old  Mohamed Elmhdati not guilty of attempted first degree intentional homicide and  armed robbery.  Elmhdati was found guilty of six counts including first degree reckless injury and aggravated battery, punishable by up to more than 50 years in prison.  Police say Elmhdati  shot another man in the leg outside the D&D Tavern near the corner of Division Street and Lincoln Avenue.  Police say the shooting was drug related.
