A Waupun man accused in the beating death of his grandmother has been bound over for trial. Gregory Spittel waived his preliminary hearing Friday on multiple charges including first degree intentional homicide in the death of 75 year old Carol Foreman. According to a criminal complaint on August 23 Spittel assaulted Foreman in the basement of his Waupun home, likely striking her in the head with his fist causing her to strike her head against the concrete floor. Spittel continued to strike her in the head after she had fallen according to the complaint. Police say Spittel was upset because his grandmother spoke to police about his drug use causing him to lose custody of his children. He is being held in the Fond du Lac County Jail on $1 million cash bond.
