Despite the reports of problems with missing absentee ballots and long lines in Milwaukee, the Fond du Lac County Clerk says she thinks the election went smoothly and safely in Fond du Lac County. “In Fond du Lac County I’ve heard nothing but positives on how everything was done,” clerk Lisa Freiberg told WFDL news. “We had 46 National Guard (officers) in Fond du Lac County at the polling locations.” Freiberg says between more than 18.000 absentee ballots and people who voted in person the turnout for Tuesday’s election was close to 44 percent countywide.
