Waupun emergency management is asking residents to sign up for a new emergency alert system. Waupun emergency management director B.J DeMaa says the city has partnered with Nixle to implement a Community Notification System to alert residents in real-time of localized emergency situations. DeMaa says with tornado and severe weather awareness week, it is critical that residents receive information needed to ensure public safety. Nixle sends residents localized, relevant alerts to their mobile device via text, email, social media and the Nixle Mobile App. You can register by texting WAUPUN to 888777 from your mobile phone or by logging onto the city of Waupun website and signing up via the Nixle Widget.
